Estate Administration

The loss of a loved one is never easy and negotiating the legal issues can make the bereavement harder. We will gently and compassionately guide you through the estate administration process.

Deceased Estate

After someone dies, the process can be complex and overwhelming for the family and those who are left as executors and as beneficiaries of an estate. We can help you understand your responsibilities and legal liabilities. We will be able to help you to locate and realise assets, to identify other debts of the estate and to liaise with the many companies and organisations that may be involved. Then once you have a clear path forward we can help to distribute the estate assets in accordance with the will.

Probate and Letters of Administration

Many estates in New Zealand require a grant of Probate to progress the estate administration, Probate is a High Court order recognising the will as authentic and officially appointing the executors to administer the estate. In New Zealand if someone passes and their assets are valued at more than $15,000 (with one institution) or property is owned by the individual, Probate will need required to deal with any estate assets. We will work with you to ensure this process is as pain free and smooth as possible.
