John is a local - Invercargill born and bred, he now lives in Clyde, Central Otago.  As a director of several companies, with involvement in diverse industries, John is an experienced businessman and extremely pragmatic. 

When he's not in the office John enjoys spending time on his lifestyle block nurturing his boutique pinot noir vineyard "Clyde Village".  He does admit though that despite his love of the vineyard he has not passed this on. All 4 of his children currently reside outside NZ, presumably due to an aversion to vineyard work!
